How is Breast Reduction Procedure Performed?

Breast reduction surgery, which usually takes 3 to 5 hours, is performed in a hospital or surgical center. Overnight hospitalization is usually not required. Typically, three incisions are made for the surgery. Excess tissue, fat and skin are then removed, and the nipple and nipple are shifted to a higher position. The size of the nipples can be reduced. The skin over the nipple is pulled down and the breast is reshaped.
